Access Statement

The Mayfair is situated opposite the famous Jubilee Clock on the Esplanade in the picturesque town of Weymouth on the beautiful Dorset Jurassic coast.

• We are approximately 3 minutes walk from Weymouth Railway Station, turn left out of the station and in front of you will be the Jubilee Clock, cross the road and we are the first guest house on the right
• The Condor ferry terminal is approximately 15 minutes on foot or a 5 minute drive.
• The town centre and harbour are only a few minutes flat walk from us and the popular Brewers Quay shopping centre and Timewalk are only a few minutes further away over the town bridge.
• We are close to several Taxi ranks and the main bus station and bus stops.

Arrival

We have a number of parking permits available for which we ask for a refundable £20 deposit, this allows you to park free in any “H parking zone” nearby. Our check in time is usually 4pm unless you have made prior arrangements with us. We are happy for you to drop off your luggage before this time and we will take it to your room when it is ready for you. It is helpful for us to know an approximate check in time so that we are available to help you with your luggage.

Main Entrance & Reception

There are four steps with hand rails both sides up to the guest house from the pavement outside. In the porch there are two bells which ring in different parts of the building so please press both to make sure we hear the bell.

Public Areas – General (Internal)

The second glass door leads to the hallway and into the residents lounge with spectacular views of Weymouth Bay. Guests may use the Residents lounge at any time, it has several comfy chairs and sofas and a chiller cabinet for guests’ use. Free Wireless Internet facility is also available in the Residents lounge.

The second door on the right leads to the dining room where breakfast is served at individual tables between 8am and 9am. We are happy to cater for any special diet but please advise us when booking.

Public Areas – WC

We have one WC for guests to use which is not in a bedroom and it is situated on the second floor (35 stairs). The stairs are not steep or narrow and have hand rails both sides.

We have nine bedrooms at The Mayfair, five with sea views, 2 with four poster beds and all with ensuite shower and wc. All stairways have hand rails both sides.

Additional Information

We are fully up to date with fire regulations and inspections. Fire extinguishers can be found on all floors along with fire call bells. There are fire notices in each room. We have 3 fire exits from the premises.
We have been fully inspected by Visit Britain and awarded 3 stars
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council Environmental Health Unit awarded a silver rating for the Council’s Food Hygiene Award Scheme.
In accordance with the Law we are a fully non smoking guest house.
